Crews were able to get a better look at damage to State Route 410 this morning, after heavy rains caused flash floods to wash across the road, depositing large amounts of mud, rock and other debris. Crews are clearing debris at more than 15 different locations along the two-mile closure between milepost 105 and 107. Debris up to 8 feet deep was blocking the roadway after the heavy rains.
Crews continue to make headway clearing more than 3,000 cubic yards of debris, but still don’t have an estimate of a reopening time. Once the debris has been cleared, crews will need to assess damage to the roadway and guardrail, which could prolong the closure.
