Enumclaw High’s track and field athletes were disappointed Thursday after finishing a meet with Peninsula – the boys because they were trounced 102-43 and the girls because they suffered the slimmest of losses, falling 74-73.
The EHS girls were paced by two-event winner Maria Blad. She won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.42 seconds and captured the long jump with an effort of 14 feet, 9 inches.
Other winners on the day for the girls were Olivia Bannerot in the 100-meter dash, 13.80; Diane Lindsey, 200-meters, 29.63; Sherry Baer, pole vault, 8-0; AnnaMarie Forza, javelin, 115-0; the 400-meter relay team, 54.60; and the 800-meter relay team, 1:55.76.
The Enumclaw boys had four event winners.
Robby Johnson was tops in the 400-meter run with a time of 54.68; Zack Mason took the 200-meter dash in 24.25; Kolton Carlson was first in the discus, 1126-6; and Doug Brazier won the pole vault, clearing 13 feet.
