Who said you can’t serve the greater good and have fun doing it? With summer right around the corner, the Enumclaw Rotary Club is gearing up for some exciting, family centered events to keep a smile on everyone’s face all summer long.
In just a few weeks you’ll have the opportunity to join us for Rotary Fishing Mania – trout fishing for kids and adults. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 23, show up at Crystal Ponds Park at 46039 284th Ave. S.E., by the Expo Center. We’ll provide the parking, fishing poles and bait. Not only that, we’ll even clean those fish you catch for only $1 each. While we will also provide plastic bags, you’ll want to make sure you bring your own cooler to take your catch home.
Crystal Ponds Park offers lovely grounds and setting, with two fishing ponds and oodles of hefty trout, yours for the catching, for only $10 per fish. Save the date and come join the fun on June 23 and then fry up your catch for dinner.
And while you’re marking your calendar, block out July 20-21. These are the dates for Rotary’s annual Enumclaw Street Fair which includes two full days of family fun with more than 100 vendors, a carnival, 5K run, Enumclaw idol contest and scores of other fun activities for families and kids. Become a Rotary volunteer and making yourself available to help out with the event. To pull off something of this magnitude takes an entire community, and many hands make light work…so if you’d like to experience Rotary as a volunteer and camp out on the giving end of this event, we’d love to have you on the team.
Then to wrap up the summer, Rotary will once again bring you another great family-oriented event – the 23rd annual duck race, which raises money for many charitable causes for Enumclaw Rotary and the Enumclaw Regional Healthcare Foundation.
On Sept. 8, and scores of yellow rubber ducks will float down Boise Creek. Preceding the duck race you’ll have the option of joining in on our Family Fun Golf Tournament. A rousing nine-hole golf game at the Enumclaw Golf Course will welcome young children and host an array of games, food and prizes. Look for more details throughout the next few months.
The Enumclaw Rotary Club is here to help people and make our community a vibrant, caring place to live and work. Won’t you join us to that end? Whether as a member, volunteer, or simply a friend of Rotary, we’d love to discuss how we might work together to help others.
