Bonney Lake baseball: Bonney Lake’s baseball season came to an end with a 9-3 loss to Union of Vancouver Tuesday at Russell Road in Kent. They played in a loser-our game at West Central District tournament.
The Panthers finished the season 9-9 overall.
White River soccer: The Hornets defeated the Hazen Highlanders Tuesday night in a shootout, keeping their season alive. White River next plays at 5 p.m. Thursday at Highline Stadium in Burien, taking on the No. 3 seed from the Southwest Conference.
Enumclaw baseball: Enumclaw High lost to Columbia River 5-4 in 10 innings Tuesday in their West Central District III-Southwest District IV clash at Propstra Stadium in Vancouver, Wash. Enumclaw junior outfielder Grant Hathaway blasted a grand slam in the top of the seventh to chase Columbia River’s starting pitcher Jon Yearout from the tilt and knot the score at four.
The Chieftains nickle-and-dimed Enumclaw’s southpaw senior ace Andrew Olson, who pitched eight fairly strong frames, scoring one run in each of the second, third, fourth and fifth innings. The Chieftains were also able to take advantage of three Enumclaw errors in the lengthy affair. Columbia River finally broke the tie for the victory with two out in the bottom of the tenth.
