What Happened at the Metropolitan King County Council

At today’s Council meeting, Councilmembers:

–Proclaimed May 20, 2013 Congressman Norm Dicks Day in King County.

–Declared the week of May 19-25 Emergency Medical Services Week in King County.

• Approved an ordinance creating the Department of Public Defense within the Executive Branch (Substitute Ordinance 2013-0215.2).

Introduction of ordinances and motions for Committee action:

• A motion related to the transfer of retired vanpool vans to nonprofit organizations and local governments to meet the needs of low-income, elderly, disabled and young county citizens (Motion 2013-0246). The motion was sent to the Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee for consideration.
