What happens when the biggest party of the year experiences a major power failure? Chaos! Mixed Metaphors! Pratfalls! Everything is funnier in the dark!
Enumclaw High School drama students will present “Black Comedy” by Peter Shafer at 7:30 p.m. May 14, 15 and 16 and 2 p.m. May 17 in the Enumclaw High auditorium. The cost is $6 and all proceeds benefit the Enumclaw School District’s sixth-grade camp program.
For more than 30 years, EHS has provided the camp counselors for the district’s sixth-grade camp. Earlier this year, the district announced sixth-grade camp would be eliminated due to budget reductions. A group of parents, and now students from EHS, are rallying to raise money to save the program.
Senior Spencer Miller will play Brindsley Miller. Senior Shiela Carey and sophomore Carson Johnson will portray Carol Melkett. Allison Abrahamse, a guest artist, will play the role of Miss Furnival. Senior David Nygaard and Paige Keith play Colonel Melkett and Schuppanzigh, respectively.
Taylor Capellaro, a senior, and faculty artist Darrell Miller will take turns as Harold Gorringe.
The cast is rounded out by junior Sarah McKinley and alumni artist Kelsie Crone playing Clea and freshman Andrew Bass as George Bamberger.
