Undaunted by the rather stormy weather of late, the Enumclaw High baseball crew accumulated another set of lopsided wins last week, lifting its record to an untarnished 6-0 overall.

The week began March 22 with EHS making an excursion to Olympia High School, Hornet coach Eric Fiedler’s alma mater.

Fiedler’s annual return turned into quite a donnybrook as the slugfest was highlighted by nearly 30 hits by the two teams.

Enumclaw eventually emerged a 17-10 victor.

The Bears did not help their cause by committing four errors; EHS had none.

The Hornets hit Olympia pitching early and often as Marcus Madden went 3-for-3 to knock in two runs and outfielder Tyler Carlson went 2-for-4 at the plate, mashing two homers that netted him four RBIs.

The predominantly senior EHS squad opened its South Puget Sound League 3A schedule March 23 by journeying to Lakes High and knocking off the Lancers 15-1.

D.J. Hitch toed the slab for Enumclaw, pitching a four-hit jewel.

Enumclaw showed why it finished third in the 3A state baseball race last year, as its explosive bats once more cranked out runs.

Michael Lucarelli, Cody Hughes, Trenton Disque and Kyle Thomson all contributed with timely singles and doubles, while Carlson blasted his fifth  homer of the season over the Lancer fence.

The Hornets had another SPSL 3A encounter slated for Friday against Decatur High, but relentless showers washed out the home opener.
