Black Diamond council attempts to fire city attorney, questions city’s legal authority to pay bills before council approval
Black Diamond’s April 7 meeting was chaotic and ended with the city council attempting to fire the city attorney through a resolution, although the mayor says only she has the legal authority to fire the attorney. White River bridge to reopen three days early | Department of Transportation
Enumclaw residents celebrated heartily when they learned the White River bridge, which was planned to be closed April 15 – 23, was opened three days early. Opening the bridge allowed traffic to once again move smoothly through Buckley and Enumclaw as detours that went through Auburn and around Lake extended this ten minute trip into a 45 minute excursion. Enumclaw Friendship House manager guilty on one count of second degree theft
The former manager of the Enumclaw Friendship House was found guilty on one count of second degree theft. Jamie M. Casteel, who was caught stealing money from Friendship House residents was sentenced to 60 days of community restitution and work release. Read more about the sentencing and court case here.
Buckley’s ‘malfunction junction’ to receive a makeover
The City of Buckley will be installing a new light on the SR 410 and SR 165 intersection – aptly named ‘malfunction junction’. The work, which will begin in May, should be over by November. Read more about the project here.
