FIREARM DISPLAYED: Officers were dispatched at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 24 to a Davis Street residence following a report of a domestic incident that turned violent and involved a firearm. A woman claimed her husband pointed a gun at her, pulled her hair and hit her in the stomach. Officers attempted to contact the man in the home but were unsuccessful. A special response team was called in and the man was taken into custody a short time later. A search warrant was obtained and police located the weapon used in the assault; several other firearms were removed for safekeeping. The husband was booked into the Pierce County jail on one count of first-degree assault.
THEFT AT SCHOOL: A school district employee contacted police Jan. 27, stating someone had entered a storage building at Wilkeson Elementary the previous evening and stolen items.
VEHICLE STOPPED: Officers were asked Jan. 26 to watch for a vehicle used during a shoplifting incident in Enumclaw. Buckley police spotted the vehicle and the three occupants were later taken into custody by Enumclaw authorities. The vehicle was secured so a search warrant could be executed.
CITATION ISSUED: Police responded the afternoon of Jan. 26 to a two-car crash at state Route 410 and Hinkleman Extension Road. It was determined one Buckley resident rear-ended another. Drivers exchanged information and both drove from the scene. One driver was cited for following too closely.
