Kasey Kahne started from the outside pole when the green flag waved at the start of Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motorspeedway. When the checkered flag flew 334 laps later he was 33rd.
“Overall, today was a tough day,” the Enumclaw driver said. “The Budweiser team fought all day, but we ended up running out of fuel at the end. The guys did a good job of making adjustments. We just couldn’t tighten it up enough to get out front and then we had an engine issue at the end.”
Kahne, who started the Chase in sixth place, falls to 10th.
Racing continues Sunday from Phoenix.
