Dani Chang, director of Student Affairs, Leadership and Involvement at Green River Community College was recognized by the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges with the Equity and Student Success Award. She was presented with the award during the TACTC spring convention in Anacortes on Thursday, May 16.
Ms. Chang was recognized for her efforts to promote awareness of issues of underserved students, creating an inclusive campus environment and highlighting the diverse student body at Green River.
“In my observation, Dani embodies the spirit of this award,” said Green River Trustee, Tom Campbell. “Her professional as well as volunteer activities revolve around her service of others, and in promoting inclusiveness and access for underserved students. I have a high personal regard for Dani and admire her dedication to student success and diversity”.
The first in her family to attend college, Chang served as Green River’s student vice president and was a dual-sport varsity athlete. After Green River, she attended Mitthögskolan (Mid-Sweden University) and helped develop an exchange relationship between the two schools. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Communications from Western Washington University and a Master of Education from the University of Washington.
