With losses to second-place Lakes and third-place Bonney Lake, Enumclaw High fell to 1-5 in South Puget Sound League 3A play.

The setbacks left the Hornets with a four-game losing streak, sitting in fifth place in the six-team division.

Offense continues to be a problem for the girls, who have averaged just 30 points in their last three outings.

Friday saw the Hornets fall 65-33 at Lakes, a game in which EHS suffered through three anemic quarters. The team managed just three points in the first period and five in the second, resulting in a 45-8 halftime deficit. The Hornets managed 17 points in the third frame, more than half the night’s total.

Calli Remitz was the only EHS player to crack double figures, scoring 10.

Enumclaw’s rough week started Jan. 18 when the Hornets hosted the Panthers.

EHS started slow, scoring just three points in the first eight minutes to fall behind by 14 points. The Hornets cut the lead in the second frame, but the Panthers outscored EHS throughout the second half to claim the easy win.

The Hornets couldn’t stop Bonney Lake’s Carli Elwin, who posted a game-high 26 points.

EHS had eight players enter the scoring column, but none posting big numbers. Katina Ferguson, Katie Holland and Danielle Saltarelli led the way with six.
