At today’s Council meeting, Councilmembers:
–Proclaimed the week of May 12-17 as National Police Week in King County.
- Unanimously adopted a motion accepting the mental illness and drug dependency sixth annual report (Motion 2014-0149).
- Unanimously adopted a motion requiring the executive to develop and submit for council review and approval a report on improving programs and services for incarcerated veterans in department of adult and juvenile detention jail facilities (Motion 2014-0159).
- Held for one week a motion addressing income inequality with the establishment and implementation of a living wage policy for King County (Motion 2014-0058).
At the Wednesday, May 14 meeting of the Council’s Committee of the Whole, Committee members:
Will receive briefings on:
- Seattle City Light Energy Demands (Briefing No. 2014-B0081).
- Public Defense (Briefing No. 2014-B0082).
Will discuss:
- An ordinance authorizing the King County executive to execute a contract for construction of the new Factoria recycling and transfer station (Ordinance 2014-0166).

The public will have their first two opportunities to present public comment on the proposed legislation implementing the reduction of Metro Transit bus service on TUESDAY, MAY 13 and THURSDAY MAY 15:

- Thursday, May 15: Bellevue City Hall, City Council Chambers, 450 110th Ave. NE, Bellevue
