DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: At 1:53 a.m. Thursday, a vehicle was stopped for speeding near the upper cemetery. The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana and read the driver his constitutional rights. The driver handed over a smoking device and allowed the officer to search his vehicle. Green vegetable matter was all over his chest and lap. The officer suspected the driver ate the matter to avoid its discovery. He was issued a citation and notice of infraction and released on scene.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 9:31 p.m. March 30, an officer was sitting in his patrol car at the lower cemetery running radar and license plates, when he discovered a vehicle possibly driven by someone with a suspended license. The driver matched the description of the suspended driver. The vehicle was stopped, the driver was placed under arrest and released on the scene with a criminal citation. The vehicle was legally parked and left on scene.

DUI: One minute past midnight March 31, an officer stopped a vehicle for reckless driving on River Avenue. The driver was driving under the influence with a suspended license. He was booked into jail and the vehicle was towed.

SUICIDAL THREATS: At 2:28 p.m. April 2, a 35-year-old man was taken to Western State Hospital for observation after he threatened to kill himself by running into traffic near the 29200 block of state Route 410.

DUI: At 1:28 a.m. April 3 at the 29200 block of SR 410, a 53-year-old Buckley man was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be driving under the influence. He was arrested, issued a notice of infraction and citation and released to a sober adult.

K-9 SEARCH: Shortly after 2 a.m. April 4, an officer was dispatched to assist Orting police with a K-9 vehicle search at Harmon Way near Mountain View Circle. Upon arrival, the dogs were deployed to the exterior and gave two alerts. The registered owner arrived and gave written consent to search. Marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol were found, and Orting police arrested two juvenile subjects for alcohol and drug-related crimes.
