Kentridge is the only new kid on the block. Play starts Thursday with a nonleague game at Rogers and continues Saturday at a jamboree at Stadium High.

The Hornets, who missed last year’s state tournament by one loss, hope to return to the state tournament in November.

The Hornets feature 14 returning players, including seniors Travis Culp, Josh Musick, Garrett Hall, Zach Petersen and Cory Larsen. Also returning are juniors Braden Dedrick and Gabe Sales, and sophomores Will Cooper, Mason Culp, Carson Lanphere, Thomas Petersen, Seth Rickard and Bennon VanHoof.
