The country’s largest Christian music festival is coming to Enumclaw in July. You may have read about this in a prior article in The Courier-Herald, or maybe have been talking about it at your church or youth group. I am taking this opportunity to explain the importance and magnitude of this event coming to the Enumclaw Expo Center.
Creation Festival Northwest has been hosted at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash., for the past 12 years and promoters have made the move to our hometown for 2010. After speaking directly with the promoters recently, they told me they hope to keep it here for the next 30 years.
Creation offers jam-packed days filled with the top musical artists, kids’ activities, a worship tent and more. Artists include big names like Toby Mac, Newsboys, Hillsong Live and dozens more. They offer tier pricing for their tickets, so the earlier you purchase them, the better deal you get. The first early bird deadline is Feb. 18. Group pricing is also available so visit their Web site at www.creationfest.com for more details.
Youth groups and concert-goers from around the Pacific Northwest and beyond will be making the trek to our town July 21-24. Expected attendance could exceed 60,000 during the four-day festival.
They will be filling hotels, eating in our restaurants, shopping in our stores and more than likely camping in surrounding farmland, in campgrounds up state Route 410 and out to Kanaskat-Palmer State Park. Watch our Web site and additional press for more information as it becomes available closer to the date.
The chamber will work with the city to prepare our community for this tremendous opportunity so everything goes as smoothly as possible. In addition, the Enumclaw Street Fair will take place July 23 and 24. Our town will be hoppin’ to say the least!
Enumclaw, let’s roll out the red carpet for everybody attending Creation this summer. Our goal is for all the artists, promoters, volunteers and concert-goers to enjoy their visit and look forward to returning to Creation 2011 at the Expo Center.
