Enumclaw and White River students shine at judo championships

This past weekend was the Pacific Northwest High School and Middle School Judo Championships at Kentwood High School.

This past weekend was the Pacific Northwest High School and Middle School Judo Championships at Kentwood High School.

Competitors are from middle and high schools across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. Kentridge High School, defending champions, again took the state team trophy with 108 team points followed by Kentwood’s 46 team points, Kent Meridian’s 32 points and Enumclaw with 31 points, the top four teams.

From Enumclaw, Sean Wei placed third, Carrie Brocx placed third, Danielle Cormier placed second Team Captains, Jade Paterson and Stevie Williams placed 2nd in their divisions

From White River, Garret Severson competed at both the middle and high school divisions. Garret was the champion in his middle school division and placed third in his high school division.
