Enumclaw School Board President Nancy Merrill reported the district came through its state audit without a scratch.

Merrill made the announcement at the board’s regular meeting May 17. She explained state auditors were in the district for about six weeks, equating to about 350 hours pouring over the district’s financial statements with staff. She said the emphasis this year was on federal money.

Across the bridge in White River all went well, too.

“Everything went great,” White River business manager Mona Moan reported. “No audit findings, no management letters and no exit items.”

The major federal programs audited in that district were the Child Nutrition Cluster (food service) and state stabilization funds, along with the financial statements for 2008-09.
