lands $6.9-million prize in state lottery
Buckley's Mike Kolisch is a man of few words. But the quiet 35-year-old is Washington's latest multi-millionaire. The heavy equipment operator won $6.9 million with Lotto over the weekend and says he's still in shock.
“My partner I work with was in there to buy a ticket right before me and didn't buy it. I bought five bucks worth of tickets and headed home,” recounts Kolisch. “I found out this morning (Monday) from the same guy there was a winner at the Milk Barn, and I checked my ticket after that and now he doesn't believe that I'm the winner.”
A single father of three, Kolisch says the he was sitting at a stop light on state Route 18 Monday morning and talking to his partner on the cell phone about the winning numbers. “He was reading the numbers. He read the first two and I read the last four off,” Kolisch said.
What was his friend's reaction? “I can't say,” laughed the polite Lottery winner.
Kolisch said he's still in shock and describes winning the $6.9 million prize as “no big deal.” In terms of spending the prize, Kolisch would only say, “Family comes first.”
The winning ticket was sold at the Milk Barn Grocery and Deli in Snoqualmie.
