SUSPICIOUS: A plastic bag containing a suspicious, unknown substance was found Oct. 24 at a Cole Street location. It was turned over to police and destroyed.

THEFT: Police were told the afternoon of Oct. 24 of items stolen from an automobile parked Oct. 24 at a Cottonwood Drive location. Taken were compact discs and a backpack containing prescription medication.

THEFT OF SERVICE: Police took a report Oct. 24 of a business trash bin being used by another person or business. The reporting party found the name of a suspect, who was contacted by officers. The suspect denied knowning garbage was being placed  in the wrong trash bin.

SHEDS BURGLARIZED: Two sheds at a Griffin Avenue residence were broken into Oct. 24. Taken were a leather jacket and chaps, motorcycle helmet and miscellaneous tools.

DOG ATTACK: A Michael Avenue resident called police the afternoon of Oct. 23, reporting three neighboring dogs had entered her yard and attacked her daughter and her family’s small dog. Minor injuries were reported.  King County Animal Control was twice alerted to the situation.

ONE ARRESTED: Police responded Oct. 23 to an Initial Place address after hearing of a domestic violence incident. A man was arrested for assault.

SPOUSE TROUBLE: A woman made repeated phone calls to the 911 emergency system until 2 a.m. Oct. 23, all concerning her husband’s recent arrest. Officers contacted the woman at a Roosevelt Avenue address and advised her to stop calling or risk arrest.

THEFT FROM STORAGE: Police were told Oct. 23 of two chain saws and an air compressor stolen from a Roosevelt Avenue storage building.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: While on patrol at 10:15 p.m. Oct. 22 and officer arrested a man for urinating in public. Police had a second contact with the man the following morning and he was arrested for resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

WELFARE CHECK: Police were told the morning of Oct. 21 of a suspicious person, possibly in need of assistance. The individual walked to a drive-through window and reported she was being followed by unmarked police cars. A witness thought he was blood on both her shirt and on the vehicle she entered. Police alerted the local hospital and notified area law enforcement agencies. It was determined Tacoma police has responded to a call about the same person at 3 a.m. the said day. She was not located.

FAMILY MATTERS: Staff at an Enumclaw school requested police check on the welfare of family members after a 14-year-old had been sent home for fighting. Contacted at the hotel where they were staying, the boy’s mother indicated there possibly had been domestic violence issues. That evening, the boy was transported to a group home in Maple Valley.

COMPUTER TAKEN: Police responded the evening of Oct. 21 to an Initial Place address and the report of a residential burglary. The only thing missing was an Acer laptop computer. It was noted the suspect may have gained entry through a window.
