Joe Fisher's day went from bad to worse Friday morning and it wasn't even 6:30.
Fisher had just left for work when he realized he had forgotten his wallet. Returning home, he left his truck running in his driveway while he dashed inside. When he came back, the truck was gone.
After a moment, he spotted it across the street, still running.
Evidently, the unattended truck had rolled down the driveway and across his neighbors' yard, clipping a small tree before plowing through the wall of 7-year-old Madison Baker's bedroom.
The little girl was shaken, but unhurt.
Dan Baker, Madison's father, said he heard the noise, but his first thought was the kids had done something. By the time he reached Madison's room, the girl was screaming.
She was scared, her dad said, but fine.
"That was a big relief," Fisher sighed.
"The emergency brake must have failed," he added.
In a separate incident, a hemlock tree demolished a teenager's bedroom early Thursday morning when it crashed through the roof of his family's home. The lucky young man was also unhurt, although the home sustained substantial damage.
