George Kranc woke up with a premonition. According to Kranc, 94, a lifelong Enumclaw resident, he knew he was going to hit a hole in one. “I predicted it,” Kranc said. “I don’t know why-this sounds kind of stupid-but I woke up that morning and I thought, ‘you know, I think I might get a hole in one today. I’m going to stop on my way home and take the card down to my son and show him I got a hole in one today.’ And that’s exactly what happened.” For Kranc, his July 19 ace – on the par 3, 120-yard 13th hole at his hometown course – marked the sixth hole-in-one in his more than 60 years golfing.

Haven bought the store at 1527 Cole St. in April when the previous owner Judy Wall was ready to exit the floral business. Haven said she kept the Young’s name because everyone in the Plateau is familiar with it. She didn’t change the store either.
