As the local impact of climate change intensifies – increasing the risk of extreme weather, declining snowpack in the Cascades, a rising Puget Sound, and more – King County is celebrating Earth Day by highlighting actions that residents can take.
“We can no longer wait for international consensus or congressional action to confront climate change, which is already impacting the Puget Sound region,” said King County Executive Dow Constantine. “The solutions will come locally, starting with small-scale, inexpensive steps that we can all take together. That is why in King County, Earth Day is a call to action.”
King County offers a number of resources and activities that help residents reduce their carbon footprint and make every day Earth Day.
