Roads in the rural Enumclaw area will see a return of the Ravensdale-Cumberland Charity Classic bicycle road race June 7.

“For four years now we had a very successful race,” said race director Michael Kopp. “Last year we donated approximately $2,500 each to the Greater Maple Valley Food Bank and the Seattle Cancer Alliance.”

The Maple Valley-based Cycle Therapy-4 Corners Cycling is combining with Starbucks Cycling to add women’s racing to the slate of men’s categories.

Area residents can expect some traffic delays from 9 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. on Ravensdale Way S.E., Kent Kangley Road (east of Ravensdale), Retreat Kanaskat Road, Cumberland Kanaskat Road, Veazie Cumberland Road, Southest 392nd, Southeast 400th, Southeast 268th, Southeast 416th and Kanaskat Kangley Road. Volunteer flaggers will be controlling traffic at major intersections.

The public is invited to watch the competition along the race route.
