ONGOING TROUBLE: A citizen complained to police Jan. 3 of ongoing harassment by a known subject. The reporting party declined further police contact and was advised to seek an anti-harassment order.
SHOPLIFTING: A shoplifting incident had police responding the morning of Jan. 3 to a Roosevelt Avenue address. A suspect vehicle was located and one person was taken into custody and booked. A second suspect was taken into custody due to association with a separate incident.
TWO ARRESTED: An officer on patrol Jan. 2 spotted a vehicle associated with a prior incident in county jurisdiction. The officer made an initial contact and requested that a county deputy also respond. It was learned that two subjects in the vehicle were wanted on arrest warrants issued by the city of Sumner. After the warrants were confirmed, the pair were booked into Enumclaw jail at Sumner’s request. The vehicle was impounded.
VEHICLE BREAK-INS: Police responded Jan. 2 to a Fredricksen Street resident after a caller reported her vehicle was one of several targeted by prowlers at her place of employment. She was concerned that the suspects obtained information and would next break into her home while she was at work. An officer checked the residence; all was OK.
ATTEMPT TO LOCATE: Police attempted Jan. 2 to locate a man involved in a domestic violence situation outside the city limits. The incident began with a 911 call received by the King County Sheriff’s Office. Neither the husband nor the wife would provide information. The man had left the home and was headed into Enumclaw to confront the woman’s boyfriend. Police checked the area and turned up nothing.
CHILD FOUND: A small child was found Jan. 2 wandering alone in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue. Dispatch was able to locate the child’s aunt, who took custody of the youngster.
FIREWORKS: Police officers took six complaints about fireworks, four on New Year’s Eve and two on New Year’s Day. In each case, things were quiet by the time police arrived.
HARASSMENT: A Charwila Lane resident contacted police shortly before 4 a.m. Dec. 31, reporting harassment by known subjects. The caller asked for information regarding a restraining order.
MAIL THEFT: An officer contacted a victim of mail theft the morning of Dec. 31. The victim was advised to contact appropriate creditors.
DRUNK DRIVER: Police heard Dec. 28 of an impaired driver at the driver-through window of a Griffin Avenue business. The female motorist was reportedly aggressive and threatening to both employees and other customers before driving off at a high rate of speed. Police soon found here and made an arrest for driving under the influence. Her vehicle was impounded.
FAMILY BATTLE: Police responded at 2 a.m. Dec. 28 to a Harmony Lane address following a report of a domestic dispute between a father and son that had turned physical. One was taken into custody for fourth-degree assault.
EXTRA PATROL: Police were asked Dec. 28 to provide extra patrol in the vicinity of Burger Place due to a man and woman going door-to-door, claiming to be painters. The reporting party was concerned that the pair seemed to be noting places where no was at home and could not provide a business card when asked. They were gone before an officer could respond.
BOMB SCARE: The King County Sheriff’s Office notified Enumclaw authorities the afternoon of Dec. 27, relating that a caller on a cell phone had told of a bomb left in a Griffin Avenue store. The business was evacuated and searched, with nothing found.
TRAILER TAKEN: A Griffin Avenue resident told police Dec. 26 a utility trailer had been stolen. It was recovered several hours later in Tacoma.
VEHICLE TROUBLE: A Lincoln Avenue resident told police Dec. 25 her vehicle had been struck while parked in front of her home. The suspect vehicle was still at the scene with no one around. Police found the vehicle belonged next door and had slipped out of gear. The neighbors exchanged information.
