Wow! I am impressed!
Right there in the “Views” section (Dec. 20) a long, meaty “Our Corner” piece from Chaz Holmes that actually presents views from the left! Well, not the far left, but – in my view – the realistic Left. (Not everyone will agree with me, of course, and that’s as it should be.)
For several years now I’ve been dismayed as The Courier-Herald (despite editorial comments about “balanced views” and “presenting information for the public to decide” – shades of Fox News!), week after week after week with rare exception presented us with only conservative views (and accusations) regarding both political and economic issues. I’d practically given up reading the page, after my commentaries to management seemed to have little or no effect.
What am I to think now? Does the Holmes article signal a different “views” for the new decade? Can I look forward to some balanced presentation?
I sure hope so – that would indeed be a happy new year!
