Tuesday was sunny around the South Sound and brought pleasant news for Plateau high school baseball teams on the road, as White River’s boys upped their league record at 6-5 when they traveled to Lakes High and defeated the Lancers 5-3, helped by seven Lakes errors.
Enumclaw High also was victorious, beating Peninsula 4-0 behind pitching ace Andrew Olson, who pushed his personal record to 4-1 and recorded 11 strikeouts on the afternoon.
In the valley below, a visiting Sumner crew demolished the Warriors of Clover Park, gleaning 13 hits in a 17-2, five inning affair. In his three plate appearances junior catcher Alex Sloan continued to flirt with .500 as he smacked a single, a triple and a home run, just missing hitting for the cycle by walking in his fourth trip to the dish.
