Jan. 31
Hit and Run: A driver rear ended the vehicle in front of him on South Prairie Road at about 7:15 a.m. He fled the scene but was located at a school in the area. The responding officer cited him for hit and run and speed too fast for conditions, due to the wet road.
Feb. 3
Burglary: Police were notified three homes under construction were broken into. Wiring, plumbing valves and light fixtures were among items stolen from the properties. No suspect information was available at the time of report.
Feb. 5
Fraud: A person reported unauthorized transactions on her debit card. She was issued a case number and told to contact police if further activity is uncovered. Possible suspects were identified, but not yet verified at the time of report.
Attempted Burglary: A resident of 188th Avenue East reported damage to her home’s front door, which indicated pry marks. She didn’t believe access was gained and nothing was stolen. An officer checked the residence and cleared the scene. There was no suspect information available.
Feb. 6
Shoplifting: A state Route 410 grocery store reported a juvenile male in custody for shoplifting a bottle of alcohol. The store decided not to press charges after speaking with the suspect’s parent, but he was trespassed from all locations for one year.
Feb. 7
Abandoned Vehicle: An abandoned vehicle was parked on 65th Street East for over a month. The owner was previously contacted by police and was advised again that the vehicle would be impounded if she didn’t remove it. Cascade Towing took possession of the vehicle upon the owner’s inability to do so.
Shoplifting: A suspect was seen concealing items in a bag before continuing to the cash register at a SR 410 retail store. He paid for items in his cart, but not the ones he had concealed. He was arrested, trespassed from the location and issued a citation for theft in the third degree.
Feb. 9
Footprints: Officers responded to a burglary alarm on Myers Road East. They were able to follow two sets of footprints in the snow, but did not locate the suspects. Nothing appeared to be stolen during the incident.
Attempted Burglary: A resident of 210th Avenue East reported an attempted burglary had possibly occurred about 10 minutes after he left the residence. He received a phone call from his son, who said he heard the doorbell and banging outside the home. Footprints and tire marks were seen leading around the house, but no evidence of an attempt to enter. No suspect information was available.
Feb. 10
Recovered Property: A stolen dog kennel was recovered in the WSU forest, where it was reportedly used as shelter by three homeless subjects. One of the subjects was arrested for possession of three warrants and a second subject was arrested on charges in an unrelated case. The kennel was reportedly destroyed, but the owner declined to press charges.
Domestic Violence: Officers responded to a domestic violence report, in which the male subject reportedly pushed the female subject during an argument. He was booked into Enumclaw jail for assault in the fourth degree and issued a no contact order.
Warrant: A patrol officer recognized a juvenile pedestrian and performed a records check, which revealed an arrest warrant from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to Remann Hall after his identity and warrant were confirmed.
Expired Tabs: An officer stopped a vehicle with expired tabs. The driver initially provided a false identity due to an arrest warrant she was trying to conceal. She was arrested for the warrant and issued citations for driving with a suspended license and making false or misleading statements to law enforcement. She was also issued infractions for expired tabs and failure to provide proof of insurance.
Feb. 11
Front Porch Theft: A resident of Church Lake Drive reported a set of tires was delivered to his residence, but that someone stole them before he returned home. No suspect information was available at the time of report.
