The Sumner High boys golf team remains undefeated after a 64-48 win over Steilacoom High at Dupont’s The Home Course Friday. The league victory puts the Spartans at 7-0 for the season.

Austin Spanier earned medalist honors with a 38-stroke performance for 16 points. Teammates Brandon Barlow and Tom Murphy were right behind with matching 41s.

Barlow earned his third medalist honor for the season in the Spartans’ 60-37 win over White River Sept. 20. He shot 1-over par 37 at Lindon Golf Course for 17 points.

Spanier finished four strokes behind at 41 for 13 points. Kai Taylor shot 42 for 12 points and Tom Murphy carded a 45 for 10 points.

In the Spartans’ 51-18 win over Clover Park Thursday, Spanier led the team with a 39-stroke performance at Tacoma Country Club.

On the girls side, Rebecca Turcotte earned medalist honors Thursday in the Spartans’ 40-15 win over Clover Park at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.

Turcotte was also medalist in the Spartans’ 24-18 victory over White River Sept. 20 at Tapps Island Golf Course.

The Spartans closed out the week with a 53-30 loss to Steilacoom Friday.
