Bonney Lake’s Brandon Kaylor wins 3A state title | Mat Classic

Brandon Kaylor took the 3A state title beating Riley Gurr from Kamiakin 9-7 in overtime.

Brandon Kaylor from Bonney Lake won the state title at 106 pounds Saturday at the Mat Classic.

Brandon Kaylor took the 3A state title beating Riley Gurr from Kamiakin 9-7 in overtime.

Kaylor was behind much of the three periods before tying Gurr 7-7 in the last few clicks of the third period.

Wrestlers hit the mat after holiday break

Enumclaw recently placed in the middle of the pack during the second-annual Pac Coast Championships.

The Enumclaw High boys wrestling team managed to fit a couple of tournaments into its schedule during the holidays and will return to action Jan. 8 with a dual meet at Kent-Meridian High School. The White River boys had one tourney during winter break and also will return to the mat Jan. 8 when they travel to Federal Way High to challenge the Eagles.
