The Bonney Lake High girls registered an 8-0 shutout over Clover Park in South Puget Sound League 3A soccer Sept. 29.

Emma Thompson scored a game-high three goals for the Panthers in their league opener at Lakewood. All her goals came in the second half. She scored in the 56th, 73rd and 77th minute of play.

Savanna Moorehead started the scoring with a goal off a Leslie Cannon assist in the fifth minute; four minutes later, Kassandra Blakey scored off an assist by Carly Mingo.

Brianne Jones made it 3-0 in the 26th minute as Blakely recorded the assist.

Moorehead scored her second goal four minutes into the second half with Leslie Cannon on the assist.

Haylie Cannon assisted on two of Thompson’s goals.

Goalkeeper Rendi Johnson got the shutout in the win.

In nonleague action Thurs-day, the Panthers edged Capital 1-0. Bonney Lake won in a shoot out as Johnson recorded her fourth shutout of the season.

The Panthers host Clover Park Thursday and Lakes Tuesday.
