All suspects in the police blotter are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MISSING PERSON: At 5 p.m. Dec. 19, Buckley officers were contacted regarding a missing male threatening to hurt himself. The male’s identity was entered into the Washington and National crime information centers’ databases and an attempt-to-locate notification was sent to surrounding agencies. The case was forwarded to BPD’s investigations division for follow-up.

DUI: At 1:47 a.m. Dec. 20, an officer was dispatched to a possible drunk driver. Once behind the suspect vehicle, the officer initiated a stop on Pearl Street at Jefferson Avenue when he saw the vehicle travel into the oncoming lane while turning a corner. The driver performed some voluntary field sobriety tests, and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

WRONG LANE: At 8:13 p.m. Dec. 21, an officer was patrolling Ryan Road when he witnessed a vehicle turn a corner wide and travel into the oncoming lane. Half the vehicle’s width had crossed over the newly painted (and visible) double yellow line; it traveled for some distance that way, even as traffic approached, the officer noted in his report. He initiated a traffic stop, during which the driver refused to submit to field sobriety testing. He was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

SHOTS FIRED?: At 9:55 p.m. Dec. 21, officers were dispatched to check on a report of shots fired near the intersection of Ryan Road and Spiketon Road. The officers checked the area, but were unable to locate where the shots were coming from.

STOLEN DIRT BIKE: At 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19, a citizen reported her son’s dirt bike had been taken. The bike was stored at a Hill Street address, and the property owner notified the family their bike was missing. The back fence of the property had been cut and there were tire marks where the bike had been kept. The bike was logged into police records and the case report was forwarded to the investigations division.

THEFT: On Dec. 22, a South A Street resident reported jewelry stolen from their home.

DISORDERLY: At 11:51 p.m. Dec. 25, an officer contacted a male who was walking along state Route 410. The subject became agitated during the stop, throwing his wallet at the officer before lunging at him. He was taken into custody and booked into jail.
