Suspect wanted in home invasion/murder turns herself in at Sumner Police Department

One of the four suspects involved in the April 25 home invasion and robbery which resulted in the shooting death of James Sanders.

Amanda Knight, 21, surrendered to Sumner police on May 4 at 5:30 p.m. and police turned custody of her over to Pierce County Sheriff Department.

Sumner Police Department Administrative Manager Jason Wilson said minimal contact and conversation with a suspect is maintained in a case of this magnitude until the suspect is turned over to the presiding authorities.

Knight was wanted along with three other suspects, who are now all in custody following the fourth’s surrender at 1 p.m. Thursday at the King County Jail.
