Enumclaw School Board told of completed projects

A year ago there was a frantic push in the Enumclaw School District to replace the Enumclaw Middle School roof. That project and the installation of heat pumps at Westwood Elementary School are complete, and district heating and ventilation specialist Pete French and business manager Randy Stocker said the projects were within the budget and should last 25 years.

“Thank you to taxpayers for the support of these projects,” Stocker said during a presentation to the Enumclaw School Board June 21 at its regular meeting. “We got a lot of value for our money.”

The EMS roof, which comes with a 25-year warranty, cost the district $2.4 million. The Westwood project, which replaced 20, 25-year-old heat pumps, ran $307,000.

“Everything in the building now works and we’re committed to keeping it that way,” French said.
