If your dog’s a real extrovert, Saturday Sept. 29 may be the perfect opportunity to let it strut its stuff with other pups.
Local student Chloe Mitchell has organized a Buckley-area PetWalk to benefit the Humane Society of the United States. The Humane Society advocates for animal protection laws, provides rescue and emergency response, investigates animal cruelty and establishes shelters across the country.
The main event is a walk along the Buckley trail that begins at the Log Show arena at 1 p.m. There will also be a fashion show and talent contest replete with prizes.
Animal lovers are invited to raise money for the Society, and the highest earners will win a prize.
The cost to enter either the fashion or talent shows is $1 and a cute dog. But no dog is required to attend PetWalk; all are welcome.
Mitchell will also operate a pet food drive, so please bring containers of food fit for any species of pet.
Festivities are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29.
The Buckley Log Show grounds are located at 344 N. River Ave.
