The Bonney Lake wrestling squad mauled the Peninsula Seahawks Dec. 8 64-9 to improve its dual match mark to 1-1 heading into the holiday break.
Peninsula had to forfeit at 103 pounds to Andrew Johnson, 160 pounds to Jake Lueders, 189 pounds to Allen McGraw and at 285 pounds to Jordan Schultz.
The Seahawks squeezed out a pin at 130 pounds and an overtime decision at 145 pounds, but other than that, Bonney Lake dominated the one-sided mat meeting. Colton Tracy got the party started at 112 pounds, taking a 7-2 decision, and 119-pound dynamo Andrew Cunningham emerged triumphant with a 9-1 major decision.
Cole Caveness, Bonney Lake’s representative at 125 pounds, barely broke a sweat, pinning his opponent 29 seconds into that bout, and 135-pound Matt Yuste cruised to a 6-2 decision. Bonney Lake’s Chili Sabin recorded a second-round pin at 140-pounds and neither 152-pounder Tyler Hernandez or 171 pound senior captain, D.J. Williams, wasted any time disposing of their challengers, notching swift pins.
Panther senior 215-pounder Evan Dorsey flattened his foe at the 2:42 mark to finish the scoring.
