Bonney Lake police on Firday announced the name of the officer involved in the Nov. 13 incident in which a woman who fired a gun at police was killed.
According to the press release, the Bonney Lake officer involved was Kyle Torgerson, a 10-year veteran with the department. Torgerson works in the department’s traffic division.
During the incident, Holly Crahay, 38,
was reportedly seen Sunday, before 3 p.m., driving recklessly in a shopping center parking lot near 196th Avenue East. Her car was pursued by a Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy down Elhi Hill. Circumstances of the pursuit led the deputy to use a “pursuit intervention technique” to pin Crahay’s car against a guardrail.

It was at that time the suspect reportedly opened fire, shattering the window of a patrol car and cutting a deputy’s face.
Law enforcement returned fire to match the introduction of deadly force. A pit bull exited the vehicle. Law enforcement shot and killed the dog.
Crahay was shot during the exchange of fire. She was taken to a Tacoma hospital in critical condition and died of her injuries overnight.
