Josh Peart, a 145-pound grappler who recently graduated from Bonney Lake High, officially has regained his form.

Peart, who suffered a clavicle injury that quickly ended his bid to be the Class 3A state champ did not much like being out of commission.

“I love wrestling, so if I can’t be in the circle, I go crazy,” he said. After five weeks of working out with Reality Sports’ Jeremy Savin and another trainer and coach in Brian Peterson, Peart finished second at the state Greco wrestling tournament in Sedro Woolley, Wash., May 9.

A week later in Spokane, Peart took it to the next level, claiming first place in the state freestyle tournament at his new 152-pound weight classification.

Peart, who will be heading to North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in the fall, hit the road to Oklahoma City with the Reality Sports wrestling crew last week to wrestle in the Greco, Freestyle Dual Nationals Mat Tournament.

He also has started training for the Individual Freestyle All-American Nationals at Fargo, N.D., July 17-24.

“I am feeling really confident right now and since I have become healthy again and bumped up to a heavier weight class (160 pounds) have been on somewhat of a roll,” Peart said during a phone interview from Oklahoma City.
