Forum offers tips for businesses to combat cyber crime | Pierce County News

Leaders in combating cyber crime and business identity theft will talk about trends and solutions for local companies at a forum on March 20 in Lakewood.

From a Pierce County press release:

Leaders in combating cyber crime and business identity theft will talk about trends and solutions for local companies at a forum on March 20 in Lakewood.

The forum, jointly sponsored by the Economic Development Departments of Pierce County and the City of Lakewood, will offer information about potential threats to businesses and what they can do to prevent or minimize intrusions.

Public sector participants include the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, the Washington Secretary of State Office of Corporations and the Washington Attorney General’s Office.

Private sector participants include Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), Symantec Corporation, Internet Identity, and a tech reporter from the Puget Sound Business Journal.

The forum is free of charge, but registration is required.
