Grace Amos knew someone in need and quietly took care of organizing a way to accomplish a good deed.

Amos, a 2005 Enumclaw High School graduate, got to know the woman when she was working as a receptionist at The Enumclaw Wellness Center and the two became fast friends.

&#8220She had this two-story house that was falling into disrepair, but it was hard for her to do anything about it because she is going blind and living on disability,” Amos said.

Amos started working for studentpainters.net when she wasn't attending the University of Washington and focusing on a major in business administration, and an idea germinated in her charitable conscious.

People from Amos' mother's work, Windermere Real Estate, donated 60 hours of scraping, sanding, caulking and moving shrubs and trees away from the house.

Additionally, Sherwin Williams donated $400 worth of paint and paint supplies and with the beneficiary cooking up a storm to feed the volunteers and offering morale support with her boundless sense of humor, they got the job done.

&#8220Oh my gosh, you wouldn't believe how much better that house looks now,” Amos said, adding that the job couldn't have been completed without all the volunteer help and donations.

&#8220Even my mom Elizabeth got out there and was scraping, painting and laughing it up with the rest of us,” she said &#8220I think we all had a good time and it always just makes you feel good when you are putting in the volunteer hours for someone that really needs your help.”

In 2006 Amos was named the studentpainters.net Rookie of the Year, accounting for more than $100,000 of business, then topped that this year, by duplicating that effort one week earlier than she had in the previous year.

The studentpainters.net organization recently awarded Amos' drive, business savvy and kindness by offering her the district manager position.
