On Jan. 3, the center will host one of its regular day trips to the Red Wind Casino in Nisqually. The shuttle leaves the center at 9 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m.

On Jan. 8, members can compete to prove their mastery at the card table when the center hosts a pinochle tournament. Pinochle for fun is a mainstay of Tuesday afternoons at the center, but the 12:45 p.m. tournament will provide players a shot at the “title.”

On Jan. 15, the center will have a 10:30 a.m. speaker to explain veteran’s benefits to former members of armed service. The center will also have a class on basic Internet use at 1 p.m.

On Jan. 17, there will be a day trip to the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma. The trip begins at 1:30 p.m.

On Jan. 23, there will be a trip to LeMay America’s Car Museum in Tacoma at 9:30 a.m. The museum, a four-story building at the center of a 9-acre campus, opened its doors in June 2012 and strives to pay homage to the evolution of American automobiles.

On Jan. 24, there will be a speaker leading a seminar on how to prevent falls and resulting injuries.
