Sumner is in an agreement with a property owner to have the property owner build a stormwater facility which would accommodate stormwater runoff from an area north of the property. The owner, Ronary LLC, and the city of Sumner will cooperate on the design and construction of the facility which will also accommodate stormwater from the owner’s property, which provides benefit to the city and owner.
In the partnership, 79 percent of stormwater runoff is from the owner’s property and 21 percent is from the city’s land.
Estimated construction costs are $628,587.50 and the design cost is $95,000. Total contribution to the project from Sumner is $56,593.
The facility will serve the 136th Avenue East corridor and is located on the south side of 24th Street East on 30 acres of Ronary LLC-owned land.
Sumner is in the process of expanding 136th Avenue East the stormwater facility will benefit the area under expansion by collecting water.
Upon completion of the facility, the city will maintain the facility after it is dedicated to the city by Ronary LLC.
