THEFT: Officers were dispatched to the lobby April 12 for a report of a theft of a wallet. The victim said she was living with her parents and brother and accused the brother’s girlfriend of stealing her wallet, though she was unsure why. Police are investigating.
PROWL: Police were dispatched to the Park and Ride lot for a report of a vehicle prowl. The victim returned to her car after work to find the driver’s window smashed and her GPS unit missing. Police are investigating.
THEFT: Police on April 19 were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a theft. When police arrived, store security showed them footage from April 17 of a male suspect who entered the store and walked into the rear stock room. Police immediately recognized the suspect from prior theft calls. The suspect could be seen looking around the aisles several times, as if watching for employees. He then left the storage room and the store without paying for any merchandise. When employees entered the stock room they saw two empty boxes for portable DVD players. No one else was in the area during the time. Police contacted the suspect at his residence. He had cut his hair and was wearing a baseball cap with “white power” written on the front. After he was read his rights, the suspect admitted to taking the DVD players. He was booked into Buckley Jail on charges of theft.
VANDALISM: Police on April 21 were dispatched to the 7200 block of 203rd Avenue East for a report of a shattered glass front door at a residence. According to police, it appeared someone had knocked too violently on the glass door. Police are investigating.
PROWL: Police April 21 were contacted in the lobby by a resident who reported a vehicle prowl at is residence in the 7700 block of 176th Avenue East. A backpack containing textbooks, a laptop computer and an iPod, among other things, was taken from the vehicle. Police are investigating.
DRUGS: Police on patrol April 23 observed a car traveling at 65 mph in a 45 mph zone on state Route 410 and pulled the vehicle over. The officer contacted the vehicle at the rear passenger side window and when the occupants, all of whom were between 17 and 19 years old, rolled down the window the officer immediately smelled marijuana and intoxicants. The driver told police he had “three sips” from a beer 45 minutes earlier and when police asked about the marijuana he admitted there was some in the car. Police retrieved from the car a bag of marijuana and a small glass pipe. The driver said he was “holding it” for a friend. He submitted to a voluntary breath test and blew a .000. he was cited and released for possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and for speeding.
PROWLED: Police took a phone report April 23 from a resident in the 7500 block of 191st Avenue East who reported his car broken into overnight. An unknown person took paperwork, his checkbook, though some tools and a bottle of vodka were left in the car. Police are investigating.
SHOPLIFTING: Police on April 24 were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter detained by store security. Security had observed the woman conceal a disposable digital camera and two other pieces of merchandise and try to leave the store without paying. The value of all the merchandise was $33. She admitted to trying to steal the items to save money. She was cited for theft and released.
