As the summer comes to a close, Dane Gregg, 13, and Shaun Williams, 12, joined a group of friends Aug. 29 to make the most of their final days before school by doing a little fishing off a dock north of Allan Yorke Park.

According to the boys, they’d already caught and a 17-inch bass.

School begins next week for districts across east Pierce County. The Dieringer and White River School Districts begin classes Tuesday while Sumner students get one more day off before beginning the school year Wednesday.
