The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Puget Sound lowlands, including Pierce County.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures creates the potential for explosive fire growth.

A county-wide burn ban in also still in place on all outdoor burning except for small fires in established pits at approved campgrounds or private property with the owner’s permission.
