Commuters, residents and local businesses that rely on Interstate 5 near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) are invited to comment and learn more about a study for relieving congestion along the I-5 corridor. Transportation officials will be on hand to answer questions June 11 at an informal open house south of DuPont.
Staff representing the Washington State Department of Transportation, area metropolitan transportation planning organizations, JBLM and the Federal Highway Administration will jointly host an open house at the Eagles Pride Fort
Lewis Golf Course to discuss options being explored to improve traffic flow through the area.
No formal presentation will be provided, and attendees are welcome to come and go at their leisure during the three-hour event.
The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 at the Eagles Pride JBLM Golf Cours, Interstate 5 at Mounts Road, exit 116.
A free shuttle service will operate from the open house and two locations from 3:45 to 5:40 p.m., at the Lacey Transit Center, 610 Golf Club Place, and the Lakewood Transit Center, 5719 Lakewood Towne Center Blvd. SW.
