Sumner, WA–On Friday, October 8, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train in Sumner. Sumner Police received the emergency call at 5:53 pm. The pedestrian was a 40-year-old male. The train was the Amtrak Cascades 516, traveling north from Portland. The incident occurred where the tracks cross Maple Street in Sumner. Sumner Police responded to the scene along with East Pierce Fire & Rescue. The incident is under investigation.
