MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Police on June 1 were dispatched to the 1800 block of 95th Avenue East for a report of a vehicle with a broken window. The victim parked his car in his driveway the evening discovered the window in the morning. Nothing appeared missing. Police are investigating.

A WINDOW TO WARRANTS: Police on routine patrol June 1 observed a vehicle with large cracks in its windshield and pulled it over. A records check on the driver revealed her to be driving with license suspended. The passenger was found to have multiple warrants. The driver was cited and released. The passenger was transported to Buckley Jail and booked on his warrants.

REFLECTED WARRANTS: Police on patrol on state Route 410 June 1 observed a vehicle with a defective side mirror. The mirror was covered in plastic instead of a mirror. When the officer approached the driver she said, without prompting, “I’ll be honest, I don’t have a license.” She was also found to have a warrant out of Auburn. The passenger said he was the registered owner and she was driving because he had been drinking. He did not appear intoxicated and blew a .000 on a portable breath test. The driver was cited for the mirror and transported to Auburn. The car was released to the passenger.

DRUNK: Police on patrol June 2 witnessed a vehicle speeding on state Route 410. The vehicle also had a defective head light. As the officer caught up with the vehicle, he noticed it drifting between lanes. The officer activated his lights and the vehicle continued for approximately 1/2-mile before pulling over. Upon contacting the driver the officer immediately smelled intoxicants. The driver admitted to drinking. He failed several field sobriety tests and blew a breath test of approximately twice the legal limit. He was arrested and transported to Buckley Jail and booked on charges of driving under the influence.

DRUNK: Police on patrol June 2 witnessed a vehicle on state Route 410 waiting an unusually long time at a green light and then drifting between lanes and nearly collided with a cement barrier. After police activated their lights, the vehicle pulled over to the side, but did not stop, driving slowly on the shoulder for several blocks. When police contacted the driver, he smelled intoxicants. The driver’s speech was also slurred. The driver, who swayed on his feet and was unsteady standing, refused to take field sobriety tests and was arrested and transported to Enumclaw Jail. He blew a breath test of 0.200 and 0.199. His license was punched and he was booked on charges of driving under the influence.

JOYRIDE: Police in the early morning hours of June 3 noticed a car parked and occupied, but not moving, behind the Safeway. Police contacted the driver, who was a juvenile, who told police he had a permit but no license and permission to be in the car. He had no form of identification with him and could not provide a phone number for his parents. Upon further questioning and the revelation the juvenile did not have a license, he changed his story and admitting to taking the car without permission. Police woke up the boy’s parents who said he did not have permission to leave the house or take the car. They also said this is not the first time he has done this. The boy was arrested and admitting to taking the car without permission with the intent of driving it around for several hours. He was transported to Remann Hall and booked. Police are recommending charges of taking a motor vehicle and no valid operator’s license.

BURGLARY: Police on June 3 were dispatched to the 7700 block of 192nd Avenue East for a report of a residential burglary. The victim returned home and discovered a laptop missing and other items moved and opened. There was evidence of forced entry. Police are investigating.

ANIMAL BITES: Police on June 5 were dispatched to the 10100 block of 218th Avenue East for a report of two possible dog bites. One victim, the property owner, was attempting to contact a renter and the dog ran off the porch and bit him on his left arm. The dog also allegedly attacked a second person, scratching him. Animal control took possession of the dog.

BURGLARY: Officers on June 5 were called to the 8300 block of 183rd Avenue East for a report of a residential burglary. Tools and painting supplies were taken. The victim provided police with suspect information and police are investigating.

BURGLARY: Officers on June 6 were dispatched to the 6700 block of West Tapps Highway East for a report tat someone broke into a storage shed and stole various lawn tools and equipment, including chain saws and a weed eater. Police are investigating.

NO PEDDLING: Police on June 6 were dispatched to a disorderly conduct complaint in the 1900 block of 68th Street East for a report of a man going door to door selling books for an organization. He was contacted by police and given a citation for peddling without a license.

BURGLARY: Officers were dispatched June 7 to the 8800 block of 186th Avenue East for a report of a residential burglary. The victim returned home to find a sliding glass door open and a large number of tools missing from the garage. Police are investigating.

SHOPLIFTING: Police on June 7 were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. The suspect was seen picking out electronics and concealing them on his person. The suspect said he wanted to get a birthday gift for his brother but did not have any money. The man had $112 in his wallet. The merchandise was valued at $69. He was issued a citation for shoplifting.

COUNTERFEIT: Officers in June 7 were dispatched to the AM/PM on state Route 410 for a report of a customer attempting to use a counterfeit $50 bill. Police contacted the suspects who said they obtained the bill during a garage sale and had no idea it was fake. When he attempted to buy gas, the cashier noted the bill was fake. The driver paid for gas with another bill and then waited for police. The bill was taken as evidence and there were no charges at this time.
