A second house fire in as many days destroyed a home in Bonney Lake’s Rhododendron Park Friday. At approximately 2:15 p.m., East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters arrived at the scene of a single–wide mobile home fire. Battalion Chief Rick Goetz reported that no one was home when the fire occurred. Firefighters treated a dog that had been burned.
Thursday, firefighters battled fifty-foot flames shooting through the roof of a house on the 19100 block of 107th Street East in Bonney Lake. A neighbor, who had noticed the fire, called 9-1-1 just before midnight. The house was declared a total loss.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
