It was a rough week for Bonney Lake soccer as the Panthers dropped Tuesday’s game to Decatur and then battled to a nil-nil tie with Auburn Mountainview, with the Lions picking up the points on penalty kicks.

The week began March 27 with a league match in Decatur against the Gators. Kaden Lusnik and Taylor Weatherly scored for Decatur in the 37th and 75th minute, respectively and goalie Bret Omsberg made it stand up with a shutout.

Friday’s match at Auburn Mountainview was also a struggle for the Panthers, but Bonney Lake goalie Jake Leuders stood strong, resulting in a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation.

For league placement purposes, the game went into overtime and then to penalty kicks before the Lions besting the Panthers and picking up two points and Bonney Lake only getting one.

The Panthers were scheduled to play Lakes Monday before heading to Enumclaw Wednesday. The week ends with a big cross-district match-up at home against the Sumner Spartans.
